CIO Tintswalo Shilowa nominated for 2025 CIO Awards

Cross-Border Road Transport Agency (C-BRTA) CIO Tintswalo Shilowa is among the nominees competing for the prestigious CIO of the Year title.

Tintswalo Shilowa has been nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for her work as CIO at C-BRTA.

Tintswalo joined C-BRTA in 2017 to lead the organisation’s tech strategy. Before this, she served as CIO for the National Health Laboratory Service. She has also worked as an IT leader in organisations including SABS, the Agricultural Research Company and Home Affairs.

Her extensive career began as a senior programmer at Statistics South Africa. Tintswalo’s educational accomplishments include a master’s in IT from the University of Pretoria, a bachelor’s in IT from Unisa and a national diploma in IT from the Tshwane University of Technology. She is currently completing her MBA studies at the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

She is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.

Following the success of the third annual CIO Awards in 2024, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 13 November, the 2025 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
