Nutun’s Group CTIO Hans Zachar joins the list of IT executives vying for the 2025 CIO of the Year title.
Hans Zachar has been nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for his role as Nutun’s group chief technology and innovation officer.
Hans joined Nutun in 2023 to lead the company’s technology strategy. Before this, he was the vice president of solutions at TransUnion Africa (2021 to 2023) after leading TransUnion’s diversified markets business from 2019.
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
Hans’s tech leadership career began in 2006 where he served as managing director, leading the technology strategy practice at Accenture. His educational background includes a bachelor’s and master’s in electrical engineering from Wits University.
Following the success of the third annual CIO Awards in 2024, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 13 November, the 2025 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
