Markus Bender was appointed CIO for Siemens Southern and Eastern Africa division in October 2014. He has spent most of his professional life working for the company. Markus came to work at Siemens in 1998 as an IT service manager. He rose through the ranks to head of global HR solutions and later head of IT for HR solutions for the Asia, Middle East and Africa regions. He has a diploma in computer science from the Oxford College of Education and a BSc. in Engineering from the University of Pretoria.
