Tandile Stuurman has been the CIO at the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) since 2021.
Her career is defined by continuous progression within the public administration and IT sectors. Having joined the DPSA in 2014 as deputy director: ICT management & support, she rose to serve as acting CIO from 2017 to 2018 before gaining the permanent CIO title. Her technical foundation was built in the private sector, where she began as an IT technician at Merck, followed by roles including service desk analyst at Aurecon and infrastructure support/helpdesk team leader at NEXTEC ESA.
Tandile holds a postgraduate degree in IT from MANCOSA, alongside a bachelor of technology (BTech) in IT (communication networks) and a national diploma in IT (communication networks), both from the Tshwane University of Technology.
