Tando Luyaba currently serves as the CIO at the Information Regulator SA, a leadership role he started in 2023.

His executive career is grounded in the South African public sector, having moved directly from his role as senior manager for applications at ATNS from 2022 to 2023. Prior to this, he spent over 14 years at the CIPC, progressing from senior developer to solutions architect and eventually serving as acting CTO in 2022. His career began in web development and design roles, including web developer at Smartec Technologies in 2008. Tando also maintains an entrepreneurial interest as the owner of ODNATO since 2010.

Tando holds an MBA with a distinction on the dissertation from MANCOSA, preceded by a postgraduate diploma in business management also from MANCOSA. He holds a bachelor of science in computer science from the University of Fort Hare.
