Capitec Bank has appointed Andrew Baker as group chief information officer, following the promotion of former group CIO, Wim de Bruyn to executive: transact.
Andrew Baker assumes responsibility for the bank’s technology and data functions after nearly four years serving as chief technology officer. His appointment forms part of Capitec’s ongoing executive realignment aimed at strengthening leadership across core operational portfolios.
He brings more than two decades of experience in information technology and digital transformation. Prior to joining Capitec, Andrew served as an advisor to Zscaler. His career includes senior leadership roles across global and regional financial and technology organisations, including Amazon Web Services, Absa Group and Barclays Capital.
Andrew holds an advanced degree in civil engineering from Aston University and has completed seven Amazon Web Services certifications.
