Dido will be responsible for technology within the bank.
FNB Eswatini, which has been operational since 1995 in the Swazi kingdom, has appointed Dido wa Kalonji as its new CIO. As CIO and exco member, Dido will be responsible for technology within the bank.
Before joining FNB Eswatini, Dido was the head of technology and digital at Access Bank. Prior to joining Access Bank, he served as CIO at UBS Investment Bank, and before that was a manager of development and applications at Deloitte and a technical support Manager at MiX Telematics.
Dido holds an MSc in information systems and IT from the University of Liverpool, and a bachelor’s degree in information systems and visual communication from the University of Pretoria.
During an exclusive interview with CIO South Africa, Dido once said that maintaining a solid team requires you, as a leader, to give your team the flexibility that they need. He is also a proponent of maintaining a good work-life balance.
“People often talk about work-life balance, but I talk about work-life integration; you cannot view the two separately. Do what you need to, but also be able to meet deadlines,” he says.
In his spare time, Dido enjoys spending time with his family, playing football socially, and supporting Chelsea.
