Intellinexus appoints ICT powerhouse Zimkhita Buwa as CEO

The 2016 MTN Outstanding Women in ICT Awards recipient takes the helm at the cloud analytics company.

Intellinexus, a leading cloud analytics company, has appointed Zimkhita Buwa as its new CEO.

Prior to joining Intellinexus, Zimkhita was CEO at Quintica, headquartered in Dubai, UAE. Zimkhita was also the head: intelligent business applications core practice at Dimension Data. However, she began her career as a SAP business intelligence (BI) Analyst and later worked as a senior SAP BI consultant for the City of Cape Town.

Zimkhita is passionate about mentorship, particularly women’s mentorship programmes, which she has participated in herself as a mentee through the Techwomen programme that takes 78 emerging leaders from Middle East and Africa (16 countries) and places them with various tech companies in Silicon Valley to learn from Techwomen mentors.

She has since paid it forward in her capacity as the director of the Silicon Cape Initiative, which is an ecosystem in the Western Cape that serves to attract and bring together local and foreign investors, and the brightest technical talent.

She completed her studies in information systems at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, a Malaysian research university. She has also participated in IE Business School’s Dimension Data global fast-track programme: business, innovation and strategy.
