CIO South Africa’s trusted principal partner, iOCO, has appointed Nompumelelo Mokou as an independent non-executive director to the board of directors.
iOCO, Africa’s largest end-to-end technology solutions provider, which boasts an excellent track record of delivering professional IT and operational technology (OT) services to diverse clients, has appointed Nompumelelo Mokou as independent non-executive director to the board of directors, effective 19 March 2025.
Bringing a strong background in finance and technology, Nompumelelo began her career in auditing at EY in 2010 as an assistant manager before transitioning into the technology sector in 2016 with NTT Data (formerly Dimension Data) as a senior financial manager. She quickly rose through the ranks, ultimately serving as managing director and chief of staff before taking a brief career sabbatical. She also served as chairperson of the audit committee of the Culture Arts Tourism Hospitality and Sports SETA (CATHSSETA) from 2015 to 2019.
As part of iOCO’s board restructuring, Rhys Summerton will step down as a non-executive director and chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee to take on the role of joint CEO. Nompumelelo will assume the position of chairperson of the Audit & Risk Committee, which will now comprise: Nompumelelo Mokou (Chairperson), Andrew Marshall, and Veronica Motloutsi.
A qualified chartered accountant, Nompumelelo holds a Bachelor of accountancy degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MBA from Stellenbosch University.
