Startek associate vice-president of IT Thabang Mafisa joins the list of nominees competing for the 2025 CIO of the year title.
Thabang Mafisa has been nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for his work as the associate vice president of information technology at Startek.
Since joining Startek in 2022, Thabang has overseen IT operations and the management of technology infrastructure in South Africa.
Before his current role, Thabang was technology operations manager at Merchants SA, a Dimensions Data Company, where he led IT operations and enhanced infrastructure reliability and performance. He began his career as a support engineer at ITE Distribution.
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
Following the success of the third annual CIO Awards in 2024, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 13 November, the 2025 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
