Christian Bombrun takes over from Minnie Harris, who has been acting in the role since April.
According to MTN, Minnie has been wearing two hats for the past four months, and will now focus solely on her responsibilities as chief financial officer of digital platforms.
Christian will be in charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining MTN’s long-term growth and commercial strategy for digital. “Christian is a seasoned professional in the areas of entertainment, digital and technologies, and brings 25 years of experience to MTN,” says Jens Schulte-Bockum, group chief operating officer.
Christian comes to MTN after working as the head of communication and digital for Emmanuel Macron’s presidential campaign in France. He also worked at Orange, where his responsibilities included consumer product design, as well as managing pay-TV and subscription video-on-demand, music games, IoT and financial services, OCS, the Orange pay TV company, and the Orange movie studio.
Christian was previously the deputy managing director of M6 Web (the M6 Group’s online and digital division) and the Canal+ Group’s director of marketing and business development.
He holds a master’s degree in management science from IMT Business and a master’s in television, telecoms and internet from Dauphine University (Paris).
