Mustek has named Hein Engelbrecht as its new CEO

Hein has served as the company's acting CEO since May.

Hein Engelbrecht has been appointed group CEO of Mustek, effective 30 June 2022. The appointment follows the untimely death of the company's founder and CEO, David Kan, who established Mustek South Africa in 1987 after moving to South Africa from Taiwan.

Hein has been with Mustek for more than two decades, having joined the company in 1997 as group financial director. He later held the position of managing director before being named CEO. He has a BCom (Honours) and is a chartered accountant.

Mustek is one of South Africa's largest assemblers and distributors of personal computers and complementary ICT products. Mustek is the operational business division of the Mustek Limited Group, which also includes Rectron and was founded in 1987.
