Nathan van Rooyen has been appointed chief information officer at Mediclinic, where he will lead the group’s digital transformation initiatives in support of enhanced patient care delivery.
In this role, Nathan van Rooyen will be responsible for defining and executing the organisation’s technology strategy, with a focus on enabling innovation, strengthening digital capabilities and supporting clinical and operational outcomes across the group.
He brings more than 20 years of experience in information technology, spanning multiple sectors including insurance, financial services, telecommunications, health and fitness, and retail.
Prior to joining Mediclinic, Nathan served as head of IT and enterprise architecture for MTN Converged Solutions. His career also includes senior roles at Altron, Virgin Active, Yum! Brands and Santam, where he led large, multidisciplinary teams, contributed to driving digital transformation and aligned technology strategy with broader business goals.
Nathan holds a BCom from Stellenbosch University, a BCom honours in information systems from the University of Cape Town, a BCom honours in economics from Unisa and a master of business management and administration from Stellenbosch Business School.
