Netstar appoints Grant Fraser as new MD

Grant will be responsible for Netstar’s strategic direction and expansion.

Grant Fraser has been appointed as the new managing director of Netstar by Altron, effective January 2023. Grant, who has more than 14 years of executive leadership experience, will be in charge of Netstar’s strategic direction and growth.

Grant is the current CEO of Amecor, a Carlyle Group-owned integrated security solutions company. Before joining Amecor, he was chief operating officer of Mix Telematics Africa, where he was instrumental in transforming the Africa business into one of the continent’s largest stolen vehicle recovery and telematics businesses. His responsibilities at Mix Telematics included consumer subscriber growth and retention, as well as channel partner and dealer network development for both fleet and consumer businesses across Africa.

“Grant is a highly driven and success-orientated leader, whose skill set in business strategy, product development and customer experience will drive Netstar into the future,” said Werner Kapp, group chief executive of Altron.

Grant has also collaborated with companies such as Aberdare Cables and Gabriel, a manufacturer of shock absorbers. Throughout his career, he has been in charge of merging separate businesses and developing business strategies to increase market share, resulting in many of the companies becoming market leaders in their respective industries.

“I am delighted to be joining Netstar, a pioneer in connecting and protecting vehicle assets. Together with the team, we shall fully leverage the company’s innovative technology to assist our customers with cutting-edge fleet management solutions, software services as well as vehicle and asset tracking services,” says Grant.
