Rob’s appointment is based on the company’s succession plan initiated in 2022.
Transaction Capital's group executive management has undergone recent changes, with Rob and three other executives making a move from their current positions at Transaction Capital Risk Services (TCRS). TCRS has rebranded as Nutun, and the executives have joined Mobalyz, a newly established mobility platform resulting from Transaction Capital’s restructuring of SA Taxi and Gomo business. These appointments are effective immediately.
Mobalyz is a new mobility platform created as a result of Transaction Capital’s restructuring of SA Taxi and Gomo. Mobalyz houses the group’s credit, insurance and funding intellectual property, datasets and technologies, and is essentially the ‘operating engine’ powering SA Taxi and Gomo.
Rob is a seasoned IT professional with more than 25 years experience in IT. He joined Munnik Basson Dagama Incorporated (MBD), a subsidiary of Nutun (formerly TCRS). Prior to his move to Mobalyz, Rob was the group CIO at Nutun.
As a specialist in executive management and strategy, Rob’s early experience was in mining, chemical and water treatment plant construction. He transitioned into a career in IT when he joined SA Breweries as their marketing sales and distribution IT manager.
Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and metallurgy from the University of the Witwatersrand and completed an MBA from the same institution.
