Herman Swanepoel was appointed CIO of Bestmed in September 2017 and Chief Information and Innovation officer in January 2020. Prior to this he worked as an IT executive at Barloworld Logistics for four years and a senior IT manager for six years. Herman got his professional start as a systems analyst at Beare Group before moving to UTI as an IT manager. His specialties include Business strategy, information technology strategy formulation and implementation, including governance, risk and compliance. Herman has been extremely successful in IT turnaround strategy, organisational acquisition IT integration and especially Digital and Innovation enablement with many organizational successes and accolades. He has a BSc. from UNISA, MBA from the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University and a Masters degree in Digital Business.
