Shalin has been the chief information and technology officer of DRDGold since November 2020, after serving as group CIO for Lenmed between 2014 and 2022. Prior to this, he served as head of IT for Africa and the Middle East at Tronox (2007 and 2014).
Shalin started his career at BSCnet as an IT consultant in 1998. His educational accomplishments include a national diploma in information systems and technology, a bachelor of technology in information systems and knowledge management, a master of management in digital business. He is currently completing his doctorate of business administration.
He was nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for his work as the CITO of DRDGold.
