Tumelo Zwane is the deputy director general: ICT at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development since August 2026. She was previously the CIO at the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) since 2018. Before joining the SIU, Tumelo held leadership roles in service delivery and client services at prominent organisations including EOH, T-Systems, and Sars between 2013 and 2018.
Earlier in her career, Tumelo managed IT service desks and teams at the State IT Agency and Telkom, building a strong foundation in IT operations and management.
She holds a bachelor’s in information technology and computer science from the University of Johannesburg, and has completed specialised programmes such as the management development programme at Henley Business School and next generation network specialist training at Rhodes University.
She was nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for her role as CIO at the SIU.
