Altron Group believes James’s appointment will assist Altron Karabina in continuing to deliver value to its clients.

James Hickman, formerly head of sales, solutioning, and marketing, has been appointed as Altron Karabina’s new acting executive, effective 3 October 2022. Hickman’s appointment comes on the heels of the Altron Group’s recent announcement that Altron Karabina managing director Collin Govender had been named managing director of Altron Systems Integration as well.

James has served as Altron Karabina’s head of sales, solutioning, and marketing since joining the company in August 2019 and has been instrumental in the company’s successful turnaround led by Collin.

Before joining Altron Karabina, James was the MD of the South Africa Qlik Master Reseller and a graduate of GIBS Business School. Prior to that, he worked for Microsoft for 13 years, eventually rising to the position of enterprise sales director.

The appointment, according to Altron Group, places Altron Karabina in highly capable hands as it positions itself to continue on its upward trajectory due to James’s obsessive focus on ensuring Altron Karabina delivers value through client-focused outcomes and operational excellence, ensuring the business delivers innovation that matters.

James has been a key member of Collin’s leadership team and is excited about taking the company to the next level.

“It’s been a privilege to be part of the leadership team in this turnaround so far, and I am excited about the next chapter in our story, as we take the foundation that we have built and leverage this to build value for our customers, and partner with Microsoft to help build the future of businesses, their communities and South Africa,” he says.
