After nearly seven years in the pharmaceutical industry, Louise Steenekamp has ventured into the agricultural and forest product manufacturing sector as CIO at TWK Agri. She will be responsible for leading the overall technology strategy and IT operations.
TWK Agri, an agricultural company with interests in the forestry, agricultural trade, grain, mechanisation, financing and insurance, has appointed Louise Steenekamp as its new chief information officer.
Louise is a seasoned technology and business professional, skilled at leading organisational change and driving digital transformation initiatives, and is experienced in steering cross-functional teams and overseeing complex projects. She is also passionate about creating environments where teams and individuals can continuously grow and thrive.
Louise started her IT career in a retail store, from where she redirected into the world of SAP, initially focusing on training and large-scale SAP implementations. She then shifted focus to consulting in the mining and energy sectors, excelling in resource management, customer relationship, and business development, before joining Aspen Pharmacare as head of IT for the company’s South African sales and marketing business. At Aspen, she led a team responsible for end-to-end IT operations and later participated in establishing a global technology-enabled shared services organisation (TESS) within the Aspen Group. Louise also serves as the board vice-chair of the African SAP User Group (AFSUG).
Louise holds an MSc in international management from the University of Liverpool and an advanced certificate in design thinking from Duke University.
