Quilter has appointed May Govender as deputy CIO and head of Affluent Tech, marking both a professional and personal milestone for her.

May is relocating to the UK where she will be assuming the role of deputy CIO and head of Affluent Tech at Quilter.

In an exclusive interview with CIO South Africa, May highlighted her quest for self-discovery and career alignment, by expanding her knowledge and getting exposure to different sectors and corporate environments.

“This was a conscious effort to discern my true passion, strengths, and areas where I could make the most impactful contributions. Each transition represented a valuable learning opportunity, allowing me to explore my interests, refine my skill set, and understand the nuances of different industries,” she said at the time.

May previously served at Old Mutual as the group's CIO. She has over 23 years of IT industry experience spanning financial, telecommunications and retail sectors. She achieved her MBA at Henley Business School.
