Shalendra transitions from the poultry industry to the business process outsourcing (BPO) space.
Merchants, a leading customer management partner specialising in business process outsourcing (BPO), has appointed Shalendra Kundalram as its new vice president of technology and facilities. Prior to joining Merchants, Shalendra was CIO at DayBreak Farms.
Shalendra has 21 years of comprehensive experience in a number of fields including retail, petrochemical, telecommunication and the professional services industries. He began his IT career at Massmart as a software developer and business analyst. From there he moved to Sasol and then MTN, where he continued to thrive as an analyst.
Shalendra was also the CIO and shared services executive at the Consumer Goods Council of SA for four years before joining Adcorp as global business services executive, and was later appointed group executive: IT and business services in June 2020.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in computer science and business information systems from University of KwaZulu-Natal and completed his master of business leadership from Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL). Shalendra has also participated in Henley Business School’s international leadership development programme.
