Mike Cross steps into CTO role at Namib Minerals

Mike Cross has stepped into the role of executive: chief technology officer at Namib Minerals, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the information and communications technology sector.

Mike’s background spans mining and manufacturing environments, where he has built a track record of guiding technology functions through periods of operational and strategic transition.

Before joining Namib Minerals, he served as group IT director at Ardagh Group, where he was responsible for the design and delivery of an enterprise-wide technology strategy aligned with business priorities. His leadership covered core operational systems, infrastructure, security, business applications and global support services. Mike has managed ICT teams in multiple regions, ensuring consistent customer service quality.

He has also led complex transformation projects that required coordination across business units and close engagement with executive leadership. His approach focuses on clear communication, measured execution and the development of teams capable of sustaining long-term technology performance.

Mike holds a bachelor of commerce in IT and management from Mancosa and is a chartered CIO. In his current role he is responsible for advancing the digital and operational capabilities of Namib Minerals while supporting the company’s broader growth agenda.
