Mornè van Rensburg takes up CIO role at AVI

AVI has announced the appointment of Mornè van Rensburg as its new CIO.

With more than three decades of experience in the IT industry, Mornè van Rensburg will lead the development and execution of AVI’s IT strategy. He previously served as the systems and enabling technologies executive at the company.

His career includes senior technology and leadership roles at BCX, UCS Solutions and Datacentrix. His expertise covers end-user support, server support, project management and service management, and he brings extensive experience managing IT teams of more than 200 people.

“I have taken over a very stable environment and my focus for the next three years is to optimise and automate as many business processes as possible. I have already implemented an RPA solution and plan to apply the technology to further automate processes,” Mornè said when outlining his initial priorities.

He will also oversee the structure and strategy for AVI’s conversion from SAP ECC to SAP S4/HANA during his first three years in the role.

Mornè is a lifelong learner who holds an MBA from Henley Business School and has completed several management development programmes at GIBS and Stellenbosch University.
