Viren Naidu has been nominated for the 2024 CIO Awards

The Hollard Insure CIO joins other IT leaders vying for the prestigious CIO of the Year title.

Viren Naidu, who has been the CIO for Hollard Insure since 2019, has been nominated for the 2024 CIO Awards. He is a seasoned IT executive with more than 16 years of combined experience in the financial, retail and technology services industries.

Prior to being appointed as the CIO for Hollard Insure, Viren was the chief information officer at Liberty, and the CIO at LibFin before that. At Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), Viren was the head of IT: finance and business services.

He completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science and statistics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Viren also holds an executive certification in leadership and management from MIT Sloan School of Management.

The 2024 CIO Awards recognise individuals who have excelled in an IT capacity in their respective industries, built and led great teams, and effectively completed crucial initiatives in their organisations. The awards also highlight the world-class excellence that has come to be associated with South Africa’s top IT executives.

In addition, the awards offer companies an opportunity to recognise their CIOs and their contributions to their organisations’ success. The CIO Awards also celebrate the outstanding achievements of CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and IT executives who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation, and technology management.
