Lubabalo Lokwe was appointed CIO of Nelson Mandela University in October 2025, bringing more than 20 years of ICT leadership, digital transformation and business optimisation experience to support the institution’s Vision 2030 strategy.
Before this role he served as business optimisation advisor to the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa and has held senior positions at Adapt IT Holdings Proprietary Limited, the National Skills Fund and SITA.
He holds an MBA from Tshwane University of Technology and a master’s in information systems from the University of Roehampton, along with certifications in business analysis and business process management from the University of Pretoria.
