CIO Sam Nkosi nominated for 2026 CIO Awards

Santam Insurance chief information officer Sam Nkosi has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards.

Sam Nkosi has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards for his role as Santam Insurance chief information officer.

Sam joined Santam Insurance in 2023. He previously served as chief information officer at Sasria SOC and the Auditor-General of South Africa.

He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.

He began his career as a group change manager and IT specialist at Investec. Sam holds an MSc in information systems from Leeds Beckett University and has completed several programmes around digital transformation and leadership at Harvard Business School and Saïd Business School.

Following the success of the fifth annual CIO Awards in 2025, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 25 November, the 2026 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
