Dr Sylvia Sathekge joins the 2024 CIO Awards nominees list

SNG Grant Thornton’s CIO is in the running for an award at the Oscars of IT.

Dr Sylvia Sathekge, CIO at SNG Grant Thornton, has been nominated for the 2024 CIO Awards.

Prior to joining SNG, Sylvia was CIO: Africa at Babcock International Group and the chief information officer at Omnia Holdings.

She holds two master’s degrees, an MSc in technology management from the University of Pretoria and MBL specialising in corporate finance from the University of South Africa and a bachelor of technology degree in IT from the Tshwane University of Technology. Sylvia also completed a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA): executive business management and administration at the Business School Nederland, and is a member of the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA).

All nominees are eligible for the CIO of the Year, Public Sector CIO of the Year, Young CIO of the Year, Strategy & Leadership, Digital Innovation, Smart Data, IT Project of the Year, Cybersecurity, and High-Performance Team Awards.

The country’s top IT minds will be recognised for excellence in their field during a gala dinner on 12 November at the 2024 CIO Awards.
