The SABC has appointed Dr Vuyo Nyembezi as its group executive for technology.
Vuyo brings over two decades of broadcasting and technology leadership experience, having played a significant role in driving operational excellence, infrastructure modernisation, and digital transformation across the organisation.
After acting in the role during a critical phase of digital transformation, Vuyo’s permanent appointment is expected to help advance the SABC’s vision to become a digitally enabled public broadcaster.
The public broadcaster noted that the appointment followed an exhaustive and competitive recruitment process in a LinkedIn post.
SABC CEO, Nomsa Chabeli, welcomed the appointment, saying: “Dr. Nyembezi’s leadership and dedication to innovation continue to position the SABC for a digitally empowered future. We are confident that his expertise will further strengthen the corporation’s ability to deliver on its public service mandate.”
