Hulamin’s head of IT Shueyb Vally is among the nominees competing for the acclaimed 2025 CIO of the Year title.
Shueyb Vally has been nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for his work as the head of IT at Hulamin.
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
Shueyb has been building his career at Hulamin over the last two decades. Before moving to his current role, he was responsible for business performance, enterprise risk and continuous improvement as the general manager.
With a Lean Six Sigma background, Shueyb recently earned a master of philosophy in future studies from the University of Stellenbosch.
He also holds an MBA in finance and operations, a postgraduate diploma in future studies, an honours in computer science and an undergraduate degree in electronic engineering. Shueyb also contributes to the KZN chapter of the Institute of Risk Management SA as a committee member.
Following the success of the third annual CIO Awards in 2024, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 13 November, the 2025 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
