DHL vice president of IT for sub-Saharan Africa Mahendra Beharie has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards.
Mahendra Beharie has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards for his role as DHL vice president of IT for sub-Saharan Africa.
Mahendra joined DHL in 1998. He previously served as the vice president of customer services for sub-Saharan Africa at the company.
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
He began his career as a customs clerk at the company and has held numerous roles across IT, customer services, pricing and operations over his 26-year tenure. Mahendra holds a BCom in management and an executive development programme certification from GIBS.
Following the success of the fifth annual CIO Awards in 2025, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 25 November, the 2026 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
