Kuben Nair joins the 2024 CIO Awards nominees list

Harambee’s technology director is the latest IT leader to be nominated for the awards.

Kuben Nair, technology director at Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator, has been nominated for the 2024 CIO Awards. As the technology director at Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator, a non-profit organisation focused on addressing youth unemployment, Kuben leads the full technology team, encompassing platform development, IT enablement, product and skilling divisions.

Kuben’s role also involves being responsible for leading the full technology team, supporting the youth employment platform, and fostering collaboration among public, private and civil society systems to tackle youth unemployment.

Kuben began his IT career as a junior developer at Standard Bank. He then moved to South African Breweries, where he held roles such as marketing manager: strategy and innovation, and strategic insights manager, before joining Harambee as a network manager. Kuben was later promoted to his current position as technology director.

He holds a BSc (Hons) in computer science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and an MBA from Wits Business School.
