MICT SETA’s CIO stands a chance to walk away with a trophy in November.
Moloti Nkune, who has been the CIO at the media, information and communication technologies sector education and training authority (MICT SETA) since 2020, has been nominated for the 2024 CIO Awards. He is responsible for directing and managing enterprise-wide ICT strategic plans, policies and programmes – translating these into appropriate IT strategies and initiatives at MICT SETA.
Moloti is well-acquainted with regulatory and statutory development agencies. He previously served as the manager: information technology at the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA), as IT manager at the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA), and senior manager: ICT at the Universal Services and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA). Moloti’s most recent role was as the information communication technology manager at the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA), before joining MICT SETA.
He holds a national diploma in information technology: software development and a bachelor’s degree in support services: communication networks, both from the Tshwane University of Technology. Moloti also completed his master’s in information technology: business information systems from the same institution.
