Brian Bownass has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards for his role as head of ICT at Moolmans.
Brian is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT”, including the CIO of the Year title.
Brian has been the head of ICT at Moolmans since 2022. He has over 20 years of experience in technical leadership, specifically within the mining and heavy industry sectors. Prior roles include consulting at Ziyasiza and executive head of technology transformational solutions at BCX.
He holds a MBA from Oxford Brookes University and several certifications in information systems management.
Following the success of the fifth annual CIO Awards in 2026, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 25 November, the 2026 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
