Tebalo Tsoaeli has been nominated for the 2024 CIO Awards

The JSE’s CIO joins the nominees list of IT leaders competing for a trophy at the awards.

Tebalo Tsoaeli, group CIO at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 CIO Awards. He joins other formidable IT leaders who will compete for top honours in November.

Tebalo is a highly experienced IT executive who has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. He has a background in asset management, stockbroking, capital markets and investment management and administration industries.

Prior to joining the JSE, Tebalo was the chief technology and information officer (CTIO) at Sanlam Investment Group, and the CIO at Glacier by Sanlam. He was also the CIO at FNB wealth and investments: stockbroking and portfolio management – Ashburton Investments. Tebalo began his career in IT as an application developer at RMB: global markets, and later became a software developer manager at JPMorgan Chase and Nedbank.

Tebalo completed his BSc in computer science at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and a BSc in computer science (with honours) from the University of Free State. He also holds an MBA from Rhodes University.

The 2024 CIO Awards offer companies an opportunity to recognise their CIOs and their contributions to their organisations’ success. The CIO Awards also celebrate the outstanding achievements of CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and IT executives who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation, and technology management.
