post-title

WeBuyCars has announced the appointment of Dr Wynand Beukes as deputy CEO, effective 1 January 2026.

Wynand, who is currently serving as group chief digital officer, has led the development and execution of WeBuyCars’ digital transformation strategy since 2018.

His work has strengthened data-driven decision-making, improved operational efficiency across the organisation and established a technology foundation aligned with long-term business objectives. As a result of these achievements, he has been appointed to the newly established deputy CEO role.

He will retain responsibility for the group CDO portfolio while taking on the deputy CEO position. During this transition, he will be mentored by WeBuyCars CEO Faan van der Walt to support the structured development of his expanded leadership remit.

Before joining WeBuyCars, Wynand held senior roles at organisations including Telkom and BCX, where he gained experience across enterprise technology, digital platforms and large scale IT operations.

He has also demonstrated a sustained commitment to professional development and holds a doctorate in informatics from the University of Pretoria.
