Rakesh will assume a new role focused on driving the technology distributor’s growth across the region, while continuing to serve as the global chief technology officer (CTO).
Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and specialist distributor, has promoted Rakesh Parbhoo to the newly-created role of executive vice president (EVP) of its Middle East and Africa (MEA) business.
Rakesh’s regional responsibilities have expanded over time, leading to his promotion to executive vice president (EVP).

Westcon-Comstor connects the world’s leading IT vendors with a channel of technology resellers, systems integrators and service providers. The promotion will see Rakesh drive the continued growth of Westcon-Comstor across the region.
Originally from Ireland, Rakesh grew up in South Africa and now lives in the UAE. He joined Westcon-Comstor in 2017 as CEO for sub-Saharan Africa and was made global chief technology officer (CTO) in 2021 a role he retains following his latest promotion.
He holds a BCom degree in insurance, risk management and information technology from the University of the Witwatersrand. Rakesh has also participated in Alliance Manchester Business School’s management development programme, and GIBS’ group leadership development programme.
