Tsebo’s group CIO has been nominated for the 2023 CIO Awards.
Yosheen Padayachee is the latest top-tier IT executive to be nominated for the prestigious CIO Awards. The black tie event, dubbed the “Oscars of IT”, will take place on 15 November at The Polo Room at the Inanda Club in Johannesburg, with Yosheen competing for the evening’s top honours, CIO of the Year.
Yosheen has substantial experience in the financial services industry, having worked at several of South Africa's largest financial institutions, including FNB and Nedbank. She began her career as a helpdesk co-ordinator at FNB and worked her way up to head up quality assurance at FNB, before joining Momentum Metropolitan. This was Yosheen’s first tenure as a chief information officer. She later became the new group CIO of Tsebo Solutions Group in 2021.
Throughout her career, she has successfully completed a variety of projects, including successful ERP implementations in the financial sector across five companies, the development of key digital strategies for Africa at Momentum Metropolitan, amounting to billions of rands, large cloud migrations, and mergers and acquisitions, to name a few.
Yosheen holds a BCom degree in informatics from Unisa, a master’s in innovation and technology from the Da Vinci Institute, and is currently pursuing a PhD in innovation and technology from the same institution.
Outside of her work commitments Yosheen is also committed to giving back and is actively involved in women empowerment initiatives, not just from a professional standpoint, but also in teaching women personal development skills.
