With a career that spans more than two decades, Andre brings a unique blend of strategic vision and operational expertise to the table.
The African SAP User Group (AFSUG), an independent, non-profit organisation that represents SAP customers and partners across the African continent, has appointed Andre Russell as the newest member to its board of directors as an SAP representative and trusted advisor.
“I am honoured to join the AFSUG board as the SAP representative, and look forward to collaborating with industry peers to shape the future of SAP user engagement across Africa,” says Andre.
Andre is currently the director: S/4HANA Rise centre of excellence. Rise is the managed cloud offering that enables a smooth, secure migration of on-premise ERP – including SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA – to the cloud.
Andre has a wealth of experience in IT, telecommunications and software development. He holds a master’s degree in information management from Victoria University of Wellington.
Duke Mathebula, chairperson of AFSUG, commented on Andre’s appointment, saying: “Andre has previously collaborated with AFSUG and is an advocate for the work of the User Group Community. His addition to the board will be invaluable.”
Duke also expressed his gratitude to SAP Africa, particularly thanking SAP managing director Kholiwe Makhohliso (one of the judges for the 2023 CIO Awards), for the continued sustained collaboration SAP has forged with the user group. He highlighted that Andre and Kholiwe’s commitment ensures strong SAP representation on their board, which in turn fosters effective collaboration.
