enX CIO Denish Haripal is among this year’s nominees competing for the 2025 CIO of the Year title.
Denish Haripal has been nominated for the 2025 CIO Awards for his work as chief information officer at enX (Eqstra).
Denish began his career at Imperial Fleet Services as distributed infrastructure services manager before leaving in 2008, before the business was divested from Imperial Group and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) as Eqstra.
He rejoined the organisation in 2009. Eqstra was then acquired by enX Group 2016, with the brand name “Eqstra” being retained. In 2022, Denish formally moved into the Eqstra division of enX.
He has held several leadership roles across the business, including his appointment as CIO in 2010, following a promotion from his role as IT manager. Before rejoining Imperial Fleet Services, he served as national infrastructure and regional support services manager at Transnet Capital Projects (2008 to 2009).
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
He holds an MBA from the renowned Henley Business School. He has also completed a management development programme at GIBS and earned a leadership development certificate from Wits University.
Following the success of the third annual CIO Awards in 2024, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 13 November, the 2025 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
