Executive Day returns to unpack connected leadership

post-title

Following the success of the 2023 trifecta of CIOs, CFOs, and CHROs, South Africa’s top executives will once again gather to discuss the power of connected leadership

This year’s theme for CFO Enterprises’ most exciting and diverse networking function, and second annual Executive Day, is Connected Leadership. What exactly does that mean? It’s a day meant to interrogate three aspects of connectedness that can help top executives become successful as a collective: connecting with your co-leaders, the world, and yourself.

Guests will get to enjoy trendy Melrose Arch by day on 5 September from an incredible venue, 39 Melrose Boulevard, and the precinct’s vibrancy at night over sundowners and quintessential networking.

This full day of high-level networking and knowledge-sharing would not be possible without the support of CIO, CHRO and CFO South Africa’s incredible trusted Principal Partners Entelect, iOCO, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, MakwaIT, Mercer, Onestream, Old Mutual. Executive Partners Africa Data Centres, BCX, BDO, Equinix, HCL Tech, Stanlib, Workday and Associate Partner SAS.

Executive Day is the essential full-day learning and networking experience for South Africa’s most influential finance, HR and IT executives, brought to you by CFO South Africa, CHRO South Africa and CIO South Africa. These executive communities are all about connecting leaders and building new relationships beyond the boardroom.

It would not be a CFO Enterprises event without an interactive session. This time, the executives will get a chance to participate in a boardroom simulation. By scanning the QR code on the day’s programme, executives will be taken to an introductory video on platform business executive simulation. The unique simulation will allow executives to benchmark their decision-making skills through a unique boardroom simulation.

There’s an objective, decisions will be made, and the best outcome will be announced at the end of the day!

The first-ever Executive Boardroom Simulation: Clash of the Giants, will be hosted by guest speaker Brian Simelane, accompanied by his LearningSims colleagues, David Zidel and Nkosinathi Nala.

Then one of the country’s prominent business leaders, Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub, will share insights on the secret to successful exco collaboration – a CEO’s perspective.

Engineering a Breakthrough will unpack drug discovery through collaboration presented by Dr Susan Winks, head of research operations and business development at H3D Foundation.

And a panel discussion featuring KWV’s IT manager Philip de Kock and SAPPI Southern Africa CFO Pramy Moodley themed Risk and rewards of collaboration (and what to avoid!) will definitely provide those in attendance with some new and exciting approaches to collaboration, more especially what not to do!

The evening will conclude with reflections and insights from the day’s discussions. Guests will enjoy drinks and networking while taking in contrasting views of Johannesburg's bustling CBD and the lush treescapes of Rosebank, Dunkeld, and Illovo – the perfect setting to forge new collaborations and relationships.
