TransUnion promotes Gerhard Muller to CDAO role

Gerhard Muller has been promoted to the position of chief data and analytics officer after serving as TransUnion’s senior director of data science and analytics.

Global information and insights company, TransUnion, has appointed Gerhard Muller as its new chief data and analytics officer (CDAO). Prior to this promotion, Muller served as the senior director of data science and analytics.

“I’m so grateful for the incredible support and vote of confidence from Lee Naik, Dinesh Chawla, our Africa exco and global Data and Analytics leadership. And to my D&A Africa team, this would not be possible without you,” he wrote on his LinkedIn page.

With nearly two decades of experience in the financial services sector, Gerhard brings a wealth of expertise, along with a passion for innovation, technology, and people.

His career in financial services began at Nedbank, where he worked as an analyst, before advancing to Barclays, where he headed MI and analytics. At Standard Bank, he served as the head of unsecured credit originations, further solidifying his leadership in the industry. Muller also held a role at PwC as an associate director, where he spearheaded the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) competency within risk assurance services, building technical capabilities and strategic partnerships, and aligning with PwC’s global network.

Gerhard completed his BSc in IT at the University of Johannesburg and holds an MBA from Henley Business School.
