Keneilwe Gwabeni was appointed Group CIO of Rand Mutual Assurance in 2025. Before her current role, Keneilwe served as Group CIO at Assupol. With over 20 years of IT experience, Keneilwe got her professional start as a computer technician at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
She then joined Eskom where she worked in various positions including as an IT service delivery manager. Keneilwe then moved to Strate as an release manager and later an application and investment manager. She then worked as head of ICT at the Financial Services Board. Her next stop was at Standard Bank, which saw her move quickly through the ranks to become head of IT integration and her most recent role was CIO at Telkom. Keneilwe has a BCom (honours) in IS from the University of Cape Town.
