Auditor-General of South Africa chief technology officer Phila Ndarana has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards.
Phila Ndarana has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards for his role as Auditor-General of South Africa chief technology officer.
Phila joined the Auditor-General of South Africa in 2022. He previously served as chief digital officer at Ubank and chief information officer at Absa Insurance.
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
He began his career as an IT trainee manager at Woolworths. Phila holds an MSc in strategic IT management from Arden University, a postgraduate qualification in digital transformation strategy from the University of Cape Town, a senior management development programme certification from the Gordon School of Business and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Following the success of the fifth annual CIO Awards in 2025, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 25 November, the 2026 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
