Obey Makuvele has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards for his role as head of IT at Redefine Properties.
Obey is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT”, including the CIO of the Year title.
Obey has been the head of IT at Redefine Properties for the past two years. His previous IT leadership roles include being technical team lead at Blue Label Telecoms and Investec, and consulting as a software engineer for MMO Technologies.
He holds an honours in business informatics from the University of South African and an executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology.
Following the success of the fifth annual CIO Awards in 2026, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 25 November, the 2026 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Polo Room in Sandton.
