Shoprite Group chief technology officer Chris Shortt has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards.
Chris Shortt has been nominated for the 2026 CIO Awards for his role as Shoprite Group chief technology officer.
Chris joined the group in 2024. Prior to this role, he was the group chief information officer of Pick n Pay and also worked at UCS Solutions, Affinity Logic and Spherion Technologies.
He is among the nominees competing to take home one (or more) of the nine awards up for grabs at the annual “Oscars of IT” this year, including the CIO of the Year title.
Chris holds a BBusSc in quantitative management from the University of Cape Town.
Following the success of the fifth annual CIO Awards in 2025, CIO South Africa continues to shine a spotlight on the finest in IT and their achievements. On 25 November, the 2026 nominees will be celebrated during a gala ceremony at The Inanda Club in Sandton.
